Job Overview
We are seeking a highly proficient Senior Hydrology Modeler to join our specialized water management division. This role is critical for our large-scale water resource assessment projects in the Laghouat region. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing complex mathematical models to simulate groundwater flow, surface water interactions, and the impact of climate change on local aquifers. This is a high-impact role that directly influences how water is allocated and preserved in arid environments. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and calibrate complex 3D groundwater flow models using industry-standard software.
- Analyze historical hydrological data to predict future water availability under various climate scenarios.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses to evaluate the impact of industrial extraction on local water tables.
- Collaborate with field technicians to design and oversee groundwater monitoring well installations.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
- Integrate GIS data into hydrological models to provide spatial context for water management strategies.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in MODFLOW, FEFLOW, or similar numerical modeling software.
- Expertise in ArcGIS or QGIS for spatial data integration and visualization.
- Strong mathematical foundation in fluid dynamics and hydrogeology.
- Excellent technical writing skills for producing comprehensive scientific reports.
- Ability to manage complex datasets and perform statistical analysis.
- Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical findings and client needs.
Education
A Master’s degree or PhD in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Geosciences, or a closely related field is mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of aquifer properties, Darcy’s law, and solute transport mechanisms.
Experience
A minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in hydrological modeling is required. Proven experience working on large-scale groundwater assessment projects in arid or semi-arid regions is highly preferred. Experience in the environmental services sector or with international engineering firms is a significant advantage.
Salary
The offered salary for this position ranges from 450,000 to 650,000 SSP per annum, depending on the candidate’s specific expertise and technical certifications. This package is competitive within the Algerian environmental services market.

Working Environment
The working environment is a hybrid of professional office settings and field-based site visits. While much of the modeling work is performed in a controlled office environment, you will occasionally travel to project sites in the Laghouat region to oversee data collection and site assessments.
