Job Overview
The Environmental Compliance Specialist will support Suez’s mission by ensuring adherence to national and international environmental regulations. This role involves monitoring compliance, conducting audits, and developing strategies to minimize environmental impact. Candidates will contribute to Algeria’s environmental goals while gaining exposure to cutting-edge sustainability practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental compliance audits for Suez projects in Algeria
- Develop and implement corrective action plans for non-compliance issues
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies to maintain permits and certifications
- Prepare detailed reports on environmental performance and risk assessments
- Train staff on environmental regulations and best practices
- Monitor emerging environmental policies and recommend adaptations
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Algerian environmental laws and international standards
- Proficiency in environmental impact assessment methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Fluency in French and Arabic preferred
- Experience with GIS mapping software and environmental data analysis tools
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required
- Professional certifications (e.g., LEED, NEBOSH) advantageous
Experience
- 3-5 years in environmental compliance or regulatory affairs
- Experience in the water/wastewater sector preferred
- Project management experience in environmental initiatives
Salary
300,000 – 450,000 SSP/month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
