Job Overview

The Biodiversity Conservation Specialist will lead initiatives to assess, monitor, and enhance ecosystems in Setif’s diverse natural habitats. This role is critical for SNED’s commitment to balancing development with environmental stewardship. Candidates will contribute to national conservation goals while gaining exposure to cutting-edge ecological research and policy frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct biodiversity assessments and ecological surveys in Setif’s protected areas.
  • Develop and implement conservation strategies for endangered species and habitats.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, NGOs, and government agencies on environmental projects.
  • Analyze environmental data to inform policy recommendations and sustainability reports.
  • Lead public awareness campaigns on biodiversity protection and sustainable practices.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in biodiversity monitoring tools and GIS mapping software.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting ecological data.

  • Fluency in French and Arabic preferred.

Education

Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline. A PhD is advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in biodiversity conservation, environmental impact assessments, or ecosystem management. Experience in Algeria’s regulatory frameworks is a plus.

Salary

300,000 – 450,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
