Job Overview
The Network Security Engineer will play a pivotal role in safeguarding Orange Algeria’s core network infrastructure against evolving cyber threats. Reporting to the Head of Network Security, the incumbent will design, implement, and manage security controls across routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. This role demands a deep understanding of telecom protocols, security frameworks, and incident response processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Network Operations, IT, and Business Units, to ensure that security measures are integrated seamlessly into daily operations while supporting the company’s growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain security devices (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN gateways) across the Orange Algeria backbone network.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis to identify and remediate security gaps.
- Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures in line with global best practices.
- Monitor security events using SIEM tools, analyze alerts, and lead incident response activities.
- Collaborate with Network Operations to integrate security controls without impacting service quality.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and operational staff.
- Prepare detailed security reports, metrics, and dashboards for senior management.
- Stay updated on emerging threats, zero‑day exploits, and industry trends to proactively enhance defenses.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF) and telecom equipment.
- Hands‑on experience with firewall platforms (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet) and IDS/IPS solutions.
- Proficiency in security monitoring tools (Splunk, QRadar, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation of security tasks.
- Understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple security incidents simultaneously.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or CEH are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in network security within a telecom or large‑scale ISP environment. Proven track record of designing and managing security solutions for high‑availability networks is essential.
Salary
