Role Overview
Reporting to the Global Finance Manager, you will oversee accounting operations across multiple countries in Europe and Africa. This is a strategic role combining financial supervision, team management, and process improvement in a multi-entity international environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting Oversight (Europe & Africa)
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of financial reporting
- Supervise accounting across multiple countries (France, Spain, Algeria, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Angola)
- Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax regulations
- Act as the main point of contact for auditors and accounting firms
2. Team Management
- Manage and mentor 2 accountants based in Algiers
- Allocate tasks and set priorities
- Improve team capabilities and performance
- Establish efficient accounting processes
3. Closures & Reporting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Review key accounting entries (provisions, cut-offs, etc.)
- Ensure high-quality financial reporting to the group
- Support continuous improvement of reporting systems
4. Process Improvement
- Enhance accounting systems and tools
- Strengthen internal controls
- Contribute to automation and cross-functional projects
5. Operational Supervision
Accounts Payable
- Oversee invoice processing, controls, and payments
- Monitor purchase orders and commitments
Accounts Receivable
- Supervise billing and collections
- Track payments and client balances
Treasury
- Monitor cash flow and bank reconciliations
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of accounting experience
- Experience in multi-entity or international environments
- Prior team management experience (or strong interest in leadership)
- Fluent in French (mandatory); English is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize and think strategically
