Job Overview

The Data Privacy Officer will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of privacy policies and procedures that comply with Algerian data protection law, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Microsoft’s global standards. Reporting to the Head of Legal & Compliance, the role will act as the primary point of contact for data subjects, regulators, and internal stakeholders, ensuring that privacy risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated across all business units. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update the organization’s privacy framework in alignment with Algerian law and international standards.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) for new products, services, and data processing activities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Algerian Data Protection Authority and other regulatory bodies.
  • Provide privacy guidance and training to business units, ensuring compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Monitor and audit data handling practices, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions.
  • Manage data subject access requests (DSARs) and oversee incident response related to privacy breaches.
  • Collaborate with the security team to integrate privacy controls into technical architectures.
  • Prepare and present regular privacy compliance reports to senior leadership.

Required Skills

  • In‑depth knowledge of Algerian data protection legislation and GDPR.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in Arabic, French, and English.
  • Proven ability to translate legal requirements into practical business processes.
  • Experience with privacy management tools and data mapping techniques.

Education

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in data privacy, compliance, or information security roles, preferably within a multinational technology environment. Salary
